Celebration of Poetry
I was invited without consent
To the celebration of poetry.
I write from a place of uprooting,
Far away from the crowds.
I don’t sing to the moon,
Nor do I pose for magazines,
A bland poet if they taste me,
In these times
Where pain is old story
I am out of place in such events.
I aspire to the list of the anonymous,
Those who love the intimate, bleeding verse
Of the dialogue with poetry,
Profound and crystalline
Where the poet,
If the poet exits at all,
is but a nameless ghost.

FESTEJO DE LA POESÍA
Me invitaron sin mí consentimiento
al festejo de la poesía.
Escribo desde el desarraigo,
fuera de los convites
no le canto a la luna,
ni poso mi rostro en revistas,
un poeta desabrido si me prueban,
en estos tiempos
donde el dolor es una antigualla
desencajo en ese evento.
Aspiro a formar parte de los anónimos,
los amantes del verso íntimo y sangrante,
de la poesía dialogante,
profunda y cristalina
donde el poeta,
si es que existe el poeta,
solo sea un fantasma innombrable.
